The bungalow we moved into at the end of 1999 backs onto a horse paddock, and we soon discovered that Hercules did a fantastic job of trimming our hedge. He kept it at just the right height for me feed him the odd carrot. It also enabled me to see over and take photos of the clouds, using the trees on the far side of the paddock as a base for the image. Sadly, Hercules was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2006 and had to be put down. Our hedge is now eight feet high.
